Anna Lou Jackson, 83, of Owensville, passed away Wed., Aug. 21, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 3, 1940, to Edgar and Eula (Smith) Quick in Bunker.

She was united in marriage to Jack (Nay) Jackson, Jr., Jan. 16, 1961, in St. Louis.

Many may remember Anna from the many years that she worked at the Owensville Bowling Alley. She also enjoyed bowling singles and doubles with her husband. She would go on to work for the Gasconade County Family Services for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed laughing, always learning new things, reading, gardening, painting, listening to music, dancing with her husband Jack, and spending time with her family. Her faith in God was an extremely important part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband of 52 years, Jack; mother and stepdad, Eula and Orville Gahr; biological father, Edgar; and brothers, Curtis, Cletus, Leslie, “Bud,” Darrell and Clovie Quick.

Anna is survived by son, Jackie Jackson and special friend Carol of King George, Va.; daughter, Patty Jackson Melgarejo and husband Jorge of Wentzville; brother, Jim Quick and wife Emily of Owensville; grandchildren, April O’Hara of O’Fallon, Michael O’Hara of Wentzville, Heather Jackson of Jefferson City, and Anthony Jackson of Owensville; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Stroupe Jr., Skylar Branscum, Kobe Branscum, Milla Branscum, Kataleya Branscum, Izzy Mckinlay and Zayden O’Hara.

The funeral will be held at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, 108 S 2nd St, Owensville, Friday, Aug. 30. Visitation for the public will be held that day from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
