Owensville resident Ashley Jo Kueffer, 34, has been charged with a class D felony of stealing ($750 or more) after allegedly taking $4,496.86 from her employer, MFA Oil, a local convenience store and gas station.
Kueffer, according to the probable cause statement, on Saturday, July 13, took cash and checks out of the store’s safe but failed to deposit them in the store’s bank as part of her work duties as assistant manager.
She then failed to report to work the following Tuesday — the same day the corporate office notified the store manager of the missing deposit. An anonymous source provided screenshots as proof Kueffer used the stolen funds.
Gasconade County Prosecuting Attorney Mary Weston’s complaint filed Monday noted Kueffer’s prior conviction for possession of a controlled substance.
The prosecutor requested a summons for Kueffer and Owensville Police Department requested a warrant for her arrest for eluding law enforcement.
