Representatives from Gerald Elementary School traveled to the Powerful Learned Conference at the Lake Monday, Jan. 29. They once again gave a presentation on the innovative programs they have created at the local school. The group included details on the excellent community support they receive. Some of that support is in the form of:
• Weekly food backpack program from Community Outreach
• School supplies, books adopt a family for Christmas, monetary donations and treats for staff provided by local churches and businesses
• Coats for kids who need them provided by the Masonic Lodge
• Quarterly recognition for students with good behavior from the Women of the Moose
• Veterans Day coloring contest by the VFW
Every single staff member at GES works endlessly to provide the best educational experience possible to the students. Community support is important. How can you help them?
